Snuglor

I just found this on my computer, I think it must be from about two or three years ago. Also, I must have had some pretty good herb back then.

Kill Comics

I made a 5 and half foot tall bird monster for an art show this Thursday at the In. Come see it in mid-battle with two other beasts made by Max Clotfelter and Rich Stevens, come check it out this Thursday!

Imaginary Worlds

Some photos from my opening at the In as part of the
"Imaginary Worlds" show in Seattle.

I basically coated a wall in monster goop.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see it!

Animated Guacamole Character

I animated one of the squishy monsters from those 'Guacamole' books that I sell at the comic/zine festivals...

Max Clotfelter Collaboration

Here's a late night collaboration that I did with Max Clotfelter on my most recent travel through Seattle. If you haven't read Max's comix yet, you should email him
( BUSCHCAN(at)HOTMAIL(dot)COM ) and get you some, yourself deserve them.

Grotesque Dancing Thing

Here's an old comic that the Oregon Voice published in 2008.

Tapsy Tapsy

A strange little monster animation to go alongside that sacred Saturday morning coffee buzz.

Pitter Patter

Nothing like a week of dismal rain to make a guy hunker down for some rainbow colored GIF monster making.

See Em, Why? Kay.

I knew I made all of those offsets for a reason, I just hadn't learned how to get GIF'N yet. Hell, if I wasn't such a muggle I would be livin' in GIFFendor, partying like a Saint. Can I maintain my street cred while making Harry Potter references? Let's wander aimlessly into the future together and find out.

Monsters, For Days

Fancied up a bit from Wednesday, now he flickers.

Did anyone successfully nab a table at Portland's Stumptown Comics Fest this year and want to share some table space with me? The emails just went out this week and I'm on the waiting list, which doesn't seem promising. So, please hit me up with an email if you've got a little table space to share, I'll be very appreciative, promise. James(at)gnartoons(dotdotdot)com.

Monsters, All Day

Remember that New Year's Resolution that I made about 25 days ago? It's cool, I was't expecting you to, don't worry about it. Well, it had to do with monsters, and so here's a monster for you to gaze upon.

You can find a few more specimens from this recent batch of monsters in the upcoming issue of "Gag Me with A...", which is a zine that some polite creatures from LA are putting together. The LA Zine Fest is also putting together a zine for their event, which will feature another one of these little monsters, collect 'em all!

Baby New Year

I've never had a New Year's resolution before, but this year I am sincere. You gnarpeoples are going to be seeing a lot more monsters around here in 2012.

Book Fair on Saturday

Here's a nice little piece about the East Bay Alternative Press Book Fair in Berkeley this Saturday. There's even a quote in there from me. I'm honestly just excited to have my name published as both James the Stanton and Gnartoons in the same article, copy-editors are no match for my disturbing abuses of the English language. This post needs an image doesn't it? Here's a weird drawing that I did a long time ago and just found on my hard drive.

Come to the East Bay Book Faire this Saturday and say 'hi' to me, I'll wave awkwardly and offer you a sticker. Here's the info.

Seems Reasonable

Keep voting for me, you beautiful mammals.

In other news the printmakers picnic at Mosswood Park in Oakland that was put on by Endless Canvas was the most fun, low-key art event I've sat around at in a while.

I'll have a table, or at least a piece (a mere smidgen?) of a table at the San Francisco Zine Festival next weekend in Golden Gate Park. It's a free event, Saturday and Sunday so come hang out.

Drawing Monsters on Airplanes

I drew/wrote this on a flight from San Francisco to Chicago this summer. Usually I sleep through flights, but I didn't have any Dramamine with me. And so for that reason, we now have these monsters in our lives.

My apologies for any turbulent ridden lines.
